The Medicine Intensive students received an engaging lecture with none other than their beloved Dr. Dan this afternoon. Dr. Dan has worked with the students previously in their various activities, most notably teaching them how to suture! Today, he and the students explored real world medical emergency scenarios, many of which Dr. Dan experienced himself at one point. Additionally, they learned how to administer an Epi-Pen, use a diabetes blood sugar monitor, and how Narcan works. With the limitations of a spontaneous emergency situation and their new knowledge, the students worked together to diagnose a series of patients and treat them accordingly.
