The Medicine Intensive students were very lucky yesterday morning to hear from Dr. Kevin O’Connor, a physician best known for working with President Biden! He spoke with the students in a relaxing and down-to-earth presentation, explaining the ups and downs of his own career as well as offering advice to the next generation as they move into adulthood. He encouraged them to work hard but find ways to keep stress low (his preferred avenue is boating!), be empathetic with patients, follow your passion, and always say yes to new opportunities because truly, you never know when they’ll arrive. Afterwards, the students were able to introduce themselves, ask questions, and take photos with Dr. O’Connor, who was thrilled to speak with them and expressed his desire to return to speak to the passionate students at the NSLC again soon!
