Today the students participated in the Myoelectric Arm activity! This interactive session gave students valuable insights into the intersection of biotechnology and prosthetics, discovering how advanced technologies like myoelectric arms are revolutionizing the field of healthcare and transforming the lives of individuals with limb differences. The students first learned the basics, utilizing their own muscle signals to control the arm’s movements. By detecting electrical activity generated by the user’s muscles, the myoelectric arm translates the signals into precise and intuitive movements, enabling individuals with limb loss to regain dexterity and perform a wide range of daily activities.
