BIOT students performed a simple DNA extraction of strawberries today. With dish soap, salt, alcohol, and teamwork, students were able to visualize wisps of DNA. Later, they listened to Dr. Peter Billingsley, Vice President of International Projects and Strategies of biotechnology company Sanaria, about ongoing efforts to combat malaria.
