Medicine and healthcare students donned the title of Drs for the first time in today’s simulation. The essence of this simulation is simple. Students were broken into cohorts of four to five and then assigned a patient with an unknown illness. The patients had conditions that varied wildly in their niche symptoms. To identify proper treatment for their patients, students skillfully probed with medical questions. After performing a routine check-up on their patient, students used their medical knowledge to name their patients’ medical conditions. The essence of the simulation is for students to work collectively as a group to diagnose their patients.
