COMM students congregated tonight at their first official activity. Many students met their peers, teaching assistants, and their program director for the first time. After introductions were made, the students shuffled into small groups of four to five, and under the instructions of the activity became the newest additions to the Hershey chocolate marketing team. The guise of tonight’s task was to create a two-minute sales pitch for the new peanut butter-filled Hershey kiss. The purpose of the activity was to encourage the students to meet, socialize, and have fun. This activity pushed students to step out of their comfort zones to create a unified team and a charismatic pitch for the Hershey product. The students left in cheerful moods.
