American University’s Leadership Facilitator this year will be Amy Christianson. As the COO of Beacon Services, she has a combined 15 years of school, county office and regional experience, bringing an innovative and enthusiastic style to linking schools, agencies, organizations, and members of the community in supporting programs that serve children, youth and families.

Beacon encourages participants to commit themselves to excellence. Students will learn about teamwork, developing a personal leadership style, creating a personal leadership vision, and expanding core leadership skills. They believe that student success is dependent on having skills, opportunities, and recognition. Through her work at the National Student Leadership Conference, she help students learn the leadership skills necessary for them to put into practice on campus and in the community, so that they can be recognized in their communities for making a difference.

Return often for her Leadership Tip of the Day!
